A couple of months ago, I decided to submit A Light from the Ashes for the BookFest contest. It felt like a stretch since it had been so long since I published the novel. Sadly, my marketing and press tour for the book was cut short because of the start of COVID. But I thought, what the heck, let’s give it a go. I am pleased to report that A Light from the Ashes won second place in the dystopian category. I’m not going to lie, it feels good. I feel validated in all of my previous writing endeavors.

As I am jumping back into writing, and getting on a definite “this is a job” writing schedule for the biographical novel about Maude Adams, this was just the kick start I needed for my self-confidence. So hold onto your seats. There will be more coming soon.
