The obligatory Christmas decoration post. β˜ƒοΈπŸŽ„πŸ€ΆπŸŽ… Decorating the Christmas tree has always been one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. I used to do it with my family and we'd listen to and sing all of our favorite Christmas songs followed by hot chocolate. Now that I live on my own, I've created my own traditions. I put on White Christmas and decorate the tree and living room, ending with my favorite little nativity set. It makes my apartment seem so peaceful and homey. I do miss doing it all with my family, but I can still appreciate my own traditions. Happy December, everyone! πŸŽ„β˜ƒοΈπŸŽ„β˜ƒοΈ What are your favorite holiday traditions? Let me know in the comments. #cozychristmas #christmas #holidays #nativity #traditions #inspirationeverywhere
"Winter set in with December... The fields beyond Ingleside were unbroken silver pastures, fence & gate-posts wore tall white caps, windows whitened with fairy patterns & Ingleside lights bloomed out through the dim, snowy twilights, welcoming all wanderers home." ~Lucy Maude Montgomery β˜ƒοΈβ„πŸŒ¨ No one could write the seasons like good old Lucy Maude. Sorry I've been kind of MIA this week. After pushing myself at hyperspeed for 6 months, my body finally said it had had enough, and I got sick. I'm coming back to the land of the living, though. Yesterday was a lovely Thanksgiving celebration with family with lots of singing and lots of laughter, even if I had to go over the river and through the woods to get there. β˜ƒοΈβ„πŸŒ¨ Much love to you all this holiday season. Take care of yourselves. Spread the love to everyone. Keep writing if you must (I know the feeling and can't stop myself sometimes), but also be kind to yourself. I had to accept that I was not going to meet my NaNoWrimo goal this year, but that's okay because setting the goal accomplished what I wanted it to...it jumpstarted my Maude book. So, we're moving on. Today I am choosing gratitude. Another snow day, another snow shoveling session. Less than fun. But at least I can appreciate the beauty of this winter wonderland. Now back to writing. #nature #embracingseasonsathome #amwriting #winterwonderland #naturephotography #writersofinstagram #winstagram
There's a wall of snow at the bottom of my driveway about as high as my waist. Me thinks it is igloo time. #harshwinter #winter #snow #dailyworkout #hibernation #nature
Love my team! Thanks to Vince at @glassspiderpublishing and @lonewolfjenn for all of the support! Thanks Brian and Chris at @66southmain for hosting tonight (and for the newest member of my elephant family)! So much love for everyone who came out! #bookishlife #booksigning #novelwriting #novelist #authorsofinstagram #writingcommunity #writerslifeforme #writersofinstagram #cozyautumn
Some days the victories are large. Some days the victories are small. But the fact of the matter is if you are reading this, you survived the day, and that in itself is a victory. Celebrate them all, my lovelies. Every single victory. #allthethings #affirmations #amwriting #novelwriting #novelist #human #creativewriting #creativity #winteriscoming #tinyvictories #victories #alightfromtheashes

We Worshiped Storms

We worshiped storms,

friends with the wind,

as we dared to laugh above the crying,

watching dreams soar away

into a thousand shadows.
